This Cuban barbecue restaurant has developed quite a following. Diners enjoy the Cuban sandwiches as well as pollo dishes. One repeat customer sings the praises of the chicken quesadilla (not expecting it to be so good). This place is located on Sunland Blvd. and has a large covered patio. Customers flock back after sampling the fare. Customer service is rated extremely high, too.

This kind-of-hidden sandwich shop gets high marks from the clientele. A pleasing aroma draws you into the establishment and the food does not disappoint. Diners talk about the Olivier Salad Sandwich, oven-roasted turkey and egg salad on a bagel. Diners recommend taking out rather than dining in, however others love the patio area surrounded by succulents. One diner says you can feel the love that goes into these sandwiches.

Not far from Sun Valley, this gastropub receives praise for quick service and great food. Topping the list is the peach burrata pizza which gets an “insanely good” from one diner. This Mexican eatery draws rave reviews for its authentic, regional Mexican cuisine such as tamales cooked in banana leaves, chicken mole and breakfast burritos among others. One reviewer writes it’s “five stars, hands down!” Superlatives like “phenomenal abound” in diners’ reviews. Known as a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant, don’t let the appearance deceive you. There’s some great Mexican flavors here.

Chai Thung Thai is another Sun Valley restaurant with a great following. Many of its customers are repeat visitors which speak to the deliciousness of the food. The Yellow Curry is a crowd pleaser as are the Tom Young Gai, fried spicy boar and Boat Noodle dishes. Great customer service gets high marks as does their delivery service. “Best Thai food in the Valley” writes one happy customer.

Old Sicily Pizza serves up pizza as well as burgers and other fare. Like other restaurants on this list the great reviews are legion among Valley diners. One says this place could compete with any restaurant anywhere. It’s a go-to spot for many hungry diners on their lunch hour.

Another Sun Valley hole-in-the-wall that delights customers. Diners love the menu replete with all sorts of comfort foods from burgers to omelets. Diners say the place looks like it’s stuck in an 80s time warp but it doesn’t make a difference in the quality of the food. Jimmy’s has been a staple in Sun Valley for years and has a loyal clientele. The chili cheese fries are touted as the best in the world. For old time, feel-good fare, Jimmy’s hits the spot.
