Another Obscure But Delightful Escape Near Sun Valley
Jose Mier takes yet another drive to nature from Sun Valley. This time it’s to nearby Glendale and the Brand Library, starting point of the Brand Library Loop. Making use of Interstate 5 this trailhead too is only minutes away from the heart of Sun Valley.
For those in our community who want (or need) a respite from the grind that is urban living, Sun Valley stands unique among San Fernando Valley cities (with a few exceptions) in that we are closer than most to the best sights and hikes that Southern California has to offer.
Jose Mier’s drive started out by entering the I-5 freeway at Hollywood Way. A five minute drive took him to Western Ave where he exited and proceeded on Western up the hill into the Verdugo foothills. One could take Western all the way up, but the entrance to the Brand Library is on Sonora, one block over from Western.
This is yet one more piece of nature close to Sun Valley. There are others as are documented on this site, notably here and also here. Each one affords the opportunity to get close to nature and experience views that rival any in Southern California.
